I was going to claim this sweet spot as only Affton's but their recently updated site does claim them as located in Webster Groves. It is right on the border of Affton and Webster so I guess I can share. This Snow Cone stand is owned by the son of an awesome Affton family and has been around for around ten years if not longer. I have many a memory of walking up there with my friends before I could drive and spending my summer nights in the parking lot. I promise to not be too biased in my review, but I love them so much I can't help it!

Glaciers is located on 8350 Watson Rd, on the corner of the parking lot that once held an awesome Farmer's Market but now I'm not sure what's in there. It is right across the street from General Grant Car Wash which is a really cheap amazing place to get your car cleaned. Check that place out. Another great Affton spot on Watson is Dingho, a cash only Chinese place that has the best Orange Chicken around. Get some take out, a car wash and a snocone all within a mile of one another!

Their website is updated and awesome: http://glacierssnowcone.blogspot.com/p/hours-location.html

Hours are on the site but I will list them here:

April Hours

Friday 6:00-9:30

Saturday & Sunday 1:00-9:30

May Hours

Monday-Friday 6:00-9:30

Saturday & Sunday 1:00-9:30

Main Summer Hours

Monday-Sunday

1:00pm-10:00pm

The April/May hours make so much sense why I kept going and it was closed. Now onto my review!

Quality of Shaved Ice: You know, I forgot just how good this place was. Or it has just gotten better with time. Their ice was super fluffy and thin, plus there was a ton of it. A small is huge! They nailed it.

Amount of Juice: From the pictures it looks like they didn't give enough juice but somehow it was the perfect amount. Most places douse it and it is way too sweet, but they do enough to reach the bottom while still making the top tasty.

Selection: Glaciers has a great selection of traditional flavors with all the classic ones you can ask for as well as sugar free flavors, sour flavors, and cream specials with sweet cream mixed in and whipped cream on top. Unfortunately they were out of cream when I visited, but it sounds delicious and I can't wait to go back.

Flavor: So delicious!!!!! My friend got Melon Bomb which has three fresh fruity flavors and I got a blackberry vanilla mix, and both were seriously awesome. I was super impressed.

Toppings: Glaciers has the option of sweet cream, whipped cream, nerds, pixie sticks, chicklets, and Pop Rocks as well as free vanilla ice cream and sprinkles. I didn't realize they had all of that, but that rivals Tropical Moose! Great selection of toppings. Still can't wait to try the sweet cream.

Seating: Though Glaciers has a picnic bench it has a tendancy to become swarmed with bees due to snocone deliciousness falling everywhere. This is more of a place that you bring you car up and sit in the back, it doesn't have much to walk too or a great patio.

Friendliness: The girls we had were awesome and suggested great flavors. They were also very patient with the customers who were very demanding in front of us. I know that Ronnie the owner is also super nice.

Packaging: Glaciers sticks with the styrofoam cup, but they do have different colored neon straws which I think add a nice touch!

Location: It is not the best location for walking around like TroMo, but it is seen from a busy street which I'm sure drives in more traffic. I think it definitly pulls together both Affton and Webster to engage a following from both.

Price: A kiddie size is one dollar, two for a small, 2.50 for a medium, 3.00 for a large and 4.00 for a jumbo. That's amazing and cheap. What a steal!

Overall, this place is amazing. I'm so glad I got to grow up close to this snocone stand and experience it's goodness all the time. I can't wait to go back and try the sweet cream and more awesome flavors. Let me know when you go, I'm coming with!
